Friday Night

Thank you for the variety

Thank you

This was so refreshing, heart breaking and heartwarming. Thank you so much for putting this on.

Wow. What a great selection! The last film “Change” left me speechless. “Curry” was great, left me smiling. Great job!

Thank you!

My first film festival. We’re so glad to have you!

Love the movies....red vines goes really well with popcorn……

“What Do You Know?” was awesome.

“Cyclicity”…Amazing. “Change” amazing. We thought so also!

Hens & Chicks, very up to date & real. You Can’t Curry Love, very culturally informative, great. What Do You Know, a great start for all classrooms. Boys Like You, different outlook. Transexual Dominatrex, wow. Cyclicity, great perspective. Change, heavy.

Wish there were more vendors of LGBT products, stickers, t-shirts.

Armando’s work is something I am looking forward to! Hard to believe it’s his first film isn’t it?

Great!! Thank you!!

Wonderful!

Better selections please! But thanks for the effort. Glad to at least get an “A” for effort!

All of those were really good thanks for that thought provoking array of films!

Thank you!

Please address technical issues, Thank you!

Great evening. Thanks!

Saturday Matinee

As this is the 13th annual and I’ve been to some of the others, the persistent, continual inability of the video operator to run the shows smoothly totally SUCKS!!! We also hate technical difficulties. It seems like it should be so easy. A DVD comes out, another goes in and presto, it plays. Just like at home. However, we face a variety of hurdles you do not at home which is why you sometimes see our very skilled and professional projectionist struggle. For example, formatting of DVD’s vary by region. DVD’s that come from Australia or Europe use a different format than what is typically used in the U.S. Most DVD players made for the U.S. won’t even play them. Also these are not main-stream films that have been mass produced in some factory. Independent film makers burn their films onto the DVD’s they purchase using whatever software they have purchased. Therefore the DVD's we show can vary both by the quality of the blank DVD and the software used. As we watch submitted films, it is common that one or more of us will not be able to view a particular film on our DVD player and will have to watch it on another’s machine.
There is another variable over which we also have little control and that is the equipment in the auditorium. Our projectionist had made sure every one of our films was able to be played on the available equipment before the festival took place. What we had not been able to know was that the DVD player in the auditorium became irritable when it became warm. Once our projectionist figured that out, she was able to switch between her computer and the auditorium DVD player, allowing the player to cool a bit and stay happy. But despite a couple films being slightly delayed, every film was successfully shown.
I’d like to tell you that we will never have another problem but as long as we continue to show independent films and dependent on equipment that we do not own, we will likely continue to have occasional problems. So next time there is a delay, I would suggest you take a couple deep cleansing breathes, try to relax and see it as an opportunity to visit with whoever might be sitting next to you.

My first time at the festival getting used to being who I am.

Excellent festival.

Black Rose Tango failed to hit any kind of artistic mark acceptable for a public forum. You could make Saturday a family friendly matinee.

Black Rose Tango was terrible!

Two beds – poor acting. Flyers- interesting. Coming Out in the 1950’s – great perspectives with the youth so interested. Blink –real. Black Rose Tango – very artistic but hard to watch. Glad I don’t have seizures. Orchids – great education – well done. Glad to be here.

Black Rose tango was awful! Well it certainly got people talking!

I enjoyed the diversity of the different types of LGBT subjects. Really great!

Love the shows. Look forward to them every time!

Thank you for bringing the FF to Spokane!! You are wonderful. We think you’re pretty wonderful too!

Saturday Night

I find it offensive you would allow children to come to an event like this. Shame on you. We occasionally have parents contact us to ask about film content and we describe them to the best of our ability. Independent films do not go through the same rating system main-stream films do. Therefore we feel that parents are the best judge of whether their child should be attending a show.

Great films tonight.

I really appreciate the diversity of the selections, not just in the sexual identity of the characters but in their perspectives. Thank you!

Slipway was good, however the lighting was awful.

I heart this festival.

Loved it!!!

Awesome last movie! (Love In Action)

Poker Face – the truth is so hard but so good. Overcome – good laugh. This is What Love In Action Looks Like – What part of Love doesn’t Exodus understand.

It was awesome!! heart

Great films! Thanks for all you do.

Love coming to the festival. This is my third year attending. All the films are always entertaining. Thank you to everyone that volunteers their time to make this happen, looking forward to next year. Thanks so much.

Sunday

Dokka Dokka and Cupcake Zombie cheapened the whole experience – did not enjoy either of them.

Johnny & Lyman – inspiring

Great Festival.

Johnny & Lyman and Go Go Reject were both excellent!
